With a mission to provide quality, safe, affordable housing that build great foundations for their customers, their Floating Support (Mental Health & Learning Disabilities) team are critical to providing a comprehensive range of support services to customers with profound and enduring Mental Health issues and customers with Learning Disabilities, alongside those with a dual diagnosis.

Maximising the independence of people who require support and enabling real choices in how they lead their lives.

*

Supporting their customers to engage and participate in the local community, as well as obtaining and maintaining settled accommodation.

*

Providing support to ensure strong economic wellbeing, such as helping their customers to access their benefits entitlements, pay their rent and household bills, support with debts, etc.

*

Assisting, supporting and prompting their customers to live independently.

*

Maintaining accurate records of support provided, maintaining risk assessment and support plans.

*

Working with partner agencies such as Birmingham City Council and localised NHS services.

To be successful in application for their Community Outreach Support Worker role, you will ideally have worked in a similar role supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs, although they’re open to candidates who’re interested in pursuing a new career within a Mental Health and Learning Disabilities environment. Having some knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities and the issues around it would be beneficial. You’ll be comfortable in challenging negative beliefs and provide positive behaviour support, and always demonstrate a supportive and caring nature. It’s crucial to display good communication and listening skills, with a strong ability to provide advice to help their customers. Please note, it is an essential requirement to hold a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle to travel to our customers across Birmingham in order for you to carry out your role.

Their Community Outreach Support Worker position is a full time, 37.5 hours per week role, with shifts ranging across Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm. It’s a community role across Birmingham, helping to support their customers.
