We are looking for a Design manager from an Architectural background to work on purpose-built student accommodation and high-rise build to rent projects.

Conrad Consulting are presenting an opportunity to join an established company with award-winning projects.

Due to planned growth in the next 12-18 month period, this company are seeking a candidate to work out of their offices on the outskirts of Manchester, liaising with the design team from project conception through to RIBA stage stages 4 & 5. The successful candidate here will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and will be able to work completely independently and will manage external consultants to ensure that deadlines are met.

What will the Design Manager role involve:
* Leading external and internal project design teams, organising & coordinating design for sub-contractors
* Providing design management for schemes to ensure deadlines are met
* Managing budget and resources for projects
* Ensuring accurate records are kept of all design changes
* Assisting with developing a design delivery schedule
* Working closely with project Director to record design & cost issues

Requirements of the Design Manager will include:
* A background in Architecture is preferred.
* Experience as a Technical or Design Manager
* Up-to-date knowledge of construction standards and regulations, with practical knowledge of construction process
* Management experience
* Able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
* Experience of Asite & Viewpoint
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft
