Peace Recruitment is working with a long-standing and reputable groundwork contractor based in Edinburgh who are looking to add an experienced Site Engineer to their growing team. Our client has projects throughout the central belt, so a driving license is essential. Permanent candidates are the preference, however freelance candidates will also be considered at a negotiable hourly rate.
Role Overview:
As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful execution of our projects. You will be responsible for setting out, ensuring accuracy in the implementation of designs, and overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site. Your work will be crucial in maintaining their high standards and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting Out: Accurately interpret and implement designs and drawings, setting out the works on-site to exact specifications.
* Site Supervision: Oversee site operations, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
* Problem-Solving: Identify and address any technical issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
* Quality Control: Monitor and ensure that all construction activities meet the required standards and specifications.
* Communication: Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and site operatives to ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment on-site.
* Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material usage, and progress reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience: Proven experience as a Site Engineer with a strong background in setting out, ideally within the groundwork or civil engineering sectors.
* Education: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and health & safety regulations.
* Driving License: A valid UK driving license is essential due to the travel requirements across the Central Belt
