An established multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Consultant to join their team in Cheshire/South Yorkshire. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your construction claims expertise to provide professional advice and support to clients on complex commercial and contractual matters.

Position Overview

As a Senior Commercial Consultant, you will play a key role in assisting clients and internal colleagues in avoiding and resolving construction disputes. Working closely with the consultancy's delay analysts and solicitors, you will provide expert advice on contentious and non-contentious time-related matters, ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects.

Responsibilities

* Review and provide expert advice on construction contracts

* Assist clients and colleagues in avoiding disputes through professional, commercially-focused advice

* Provide guidance on issues related to loss and delay in construction projects

* Collaborate with delay analysts to address time-related matters

* Deliver training to clients on commercial, contractual, and time-related topics

* Represent clients in various tribunals and dispute resolution proceedings

* Provide professional assistance to solicitors in construction disputes

* Offer managerial support to the Divisional Lead

Requirements

* Extensive experience in providing professional construction commercial and contractual advice or working in a senior commercial role for a contracting organisation

* Proven track record in dispute avoidance and resolution

* Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams effectively

* High level of practical and academic understanding of commercial and contractual matters

* Assertive, confident, and comfortable in a meeting environment

* Capability to deliver high-quality services consistently

* Significant experience and working knowledge of JCT and NEC Forms of Contract

* Construction degree, ideally in Quantity Surveying, with a minimum of 10+ years' industry experience

* Chartered status or other relevant professional qualifications

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Strong time management abilities

* Goal-driven mindset focused on personal and business success
