We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our client's vibrant and inclusive school community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Spanish across a wide range of secondary school age groups, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. The ideal applicant will be passionate about Spanish language and culture and will be committed to fostering an engaging and inclusive environment for students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:

Plan, deliver, and assess French lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school’s teaching philosophy.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of a diverse range of students, including those with special educational needs, English as an additional language (EAL) learners, and gifted and talented pupils.
Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students in learning Spanish, incorporating technology, multimedia, and real-life contexts to enhance language acquisition.
Foster a love for the Spanish language and culture, encouraging students to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Classroom Management:

Create a positive, respectful, and well-organised classroom environment that supports the learning and well-being of all students.
Manage student behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
Promote a growth mindset and encourage self-reflection, resilience, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
Assessment & Reporting:

Set appropriate, challenging targets for student progress and achievement.
Regularly assess and track students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and developing individualised learning plans.
Contribute to the writing of student reports and attend parents’ evenings to discuss progress with parents/guardians.
Professional Development:

Participate in regular professional development to improve teaching practice and stay updated on best practices in language education.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and departments to share ideas and resources.
Attend meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.Person Specification:Essential:

Qualifications:

A degree in Spanish, Modern Languages, or a related field.
PGCE, School Direct or equivalent teaching qualification.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven ability to teach Spanish at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
Experience:

Experience teaching Spanish in a secondary school setting.
A proven track record of effective teaching, with the ability to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to students from diverse backgrounds.
Skills & Knowledge:

Excellent knowledge of the French language and culture.
Strong understanding of the national curriculum and examination requirements (e.g., GCSE and A-Level).
Ability to create and adapt resources to suit the needs of all students.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
