Social Worker – Children in Care Team – Central Bedfordshire Council
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join Central Bedfordshire Council’s Children in Care Team. This hybrid position will involve supporting children and young people subject to Interim Care Orders, through to permanency outcomes, including adoption where applicable.
About the role:
The Children in Care Team works with children and young people post-proceedings to ensure they receive the best possible support, stability, and outcomes. You will manage a caseload of children in care and will work closely with key partners to deliver high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and support a caseload of children and young people in care.
* Complete court assessments, reports, and statements to a high standard.
* Represent the Local Authority in court proceedings when required.
* Undertake statutory visits and ensure the welfare and rights of children are protected.
* Work closely with Adoption Connects when adoption is the agreed permanency plan.
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
* Significant post-qualification experience in supporting Children in Care.
* Solid court work experience.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Ability to travel to visit children, some of whom may be placed outside of Central Bedfordshire.

* £38.00 per hour (Inside IR35).
* Hybrid working – home-based with a minimum of one office day per month.
