Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a Tier 1 main contractor, working on high-value commercial and industrial projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in major projects and play a key role in delivering competitive, accurate tenders.

Senior Estimator Key Responsibilities:

✅ Cost Estimation - Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates, ensuring all project aspects, including labour, materials, plant, and overheads, are accounted for.
✅ Tendering & Bidding - Lead the preparation of tender submissions, working closely with the bid team to produce competitive proposals.
✅ Value Engineering - Assess project plans, providing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or design integrity.
✅ Subcontractor & Supplier Liaison - Manage procurement, negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value.
✅ Risk Assessment - Identify potential cost risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
✅ Cost Control - Monitor and track project costs, ensuring budgets are maintained and reporting to senior management.
✅ Client Liaison - Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring estimates and cost changes align with their expectations.
✅ Reporting - Produce accurate reports on cost estimates, tender submissions, and project budgets.

Senior Estimator Requirements:

✔ Education - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
✔ Experience - Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry, ideally on projects valued at £10m+.
✔ Software Proficiency - Familiarity with estimating tools such as Causeway, CostX, or similar.
✔ Attention to Detail - Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address cost-related risks.
✔ Communication - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
✔ Certifications - Membership with RICS, CIOB, or a relevant professional body is advantageous.
