JOB TITLE:

Deputy Care Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To professionally lead the care team during any span of duty, ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient care service is maintained which meets the needs of service users.

To build the business with new packages of care and maintain the reputation of Rysvil Care Services.

YOU REPORT TO:

Registered Manager, Care Manager, Lead Professional

MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:

Be aware of all RCS polices and procedures and ensure requirements are incorporated into practice.

Answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.

Developing and coordinating health care programmes.

Communicating between staff, clients and family.

Handling client case management and education.

Recruiting and training staff and creating rota schedules on Care Berry System.

Developing client goals and monitoring progress.

Ensuring health and safety compliance.

Liaising with local authorities, community organisations and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders.

Ensuring that all activities such as personal care and medication administration meet the required standards.

Preparing reports related to the progress of clients.

Planning and utilising resources and staying updated with the clinical knowledge to ensure that clients receive the best care.

Accepting, allocating and processing referrals for new work efficiently.

Accepting and processing changes and amendments to existing care packages.

Assigning staff to clients, whilst working within the standards and requirements of the company.

Ensuring all shifts/calls/runs and working patterns meet the needs of the company, clients and staff.

Ensuring adequate cover is available for sickness, absenteeism or holidays.

Work with the Care Manager, care coordinator, Recruitment to pre-empt recruitment needs.

To ensure work is allocated fairly and appropriately.

Working with other members of the team to ensure high quality service provision.

Liaising with clients and staff to ensure an efficient service provision.

Keeping accurate records on the system and ensuring all data is up to date and relevant.

On-call on a rota basis.

Staff spot checks, supervisions and customer reviews in accordance with the company policy.

Manager visits to all clients when required; deal and action any concerns they may have in a timely manner.

Work with other healthcare professionals to make sure clients’ health and wellbeing is maintained.

Record, investigate and report any complaints in a timely manner.

Attend calls when necessary.

Attend and conduct staff meetings.

Attend managers meetings and action any concerns that may have arisen from them.

Monthly audits of all customer report notes and MAR Charts, highlight any issues/concerns, speak to staff in relation to any concerns or issues in report writing.

Visit potential new clients and produce person centred Plans before the start of package.

Ensure complaints, incidents and accidents are logged and actioned in the designated time frame. Inform Registered Manager Care managers, Care coordinator of any outstanding actions.

Keep all clients’ files up to date in the office, in clients’ homes, compliance folders and Matrix.

Motivate, support and mentor staff when required.

Performance and Development

At all times, work within current legislation.

Maintain confidentiality.

Enter actively into supervision and appraisal.

Execute disciplinary action in partnership with the Human Resources officer.

Attend training on a regular basis to ensure that all mandatory and personal training and development needs are met in line with company requirements.

Work in accordance with the company’s mobile phone and IT policies.

Behave in a manner that always reflects positively on the company.

Work closely with other members of the team for the ultimate benefit of service users.

This includes, if required to do so, obtain, process and/or use information held on company paperwork and systems in a fair and lawful way, to hold data only for the specified registered purposes and to use or disclose data only to authorised persons or organisations as instructed.
