We are currently recruiting for an Estimator for one of the leading contractors in the region, to join their company on a permanent basis.
The company:
Our client operates across 3 divisions: Construction, Shopfitting & Interiors and General Works. They have been in business for over 60 years with annual revenues of £100m. They are actively recruiting for an Estimator to join their General Works Division.
The role entails:
Assessing the Client's requirements
Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials needed, and labour requirements
Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that estimates are accurate
Conduct site visits to gather necessary information
Measuring quantities and preparation of the bill of quantities using specialized software and industry-standard methods
Preparing and sending out subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
Analyse and interpret the subcontractor's proposals to ensure the Client's requirements are met
Identify risks, opportunities and make informed decisions about pricing and profitability
Preparation of preliminaries for tender adjudication
Ensure key issues are presented at the tender adjudication
Prepare and ensure tender submissions are evaluated and submitted in accordance with client's requirements.
Carry out post tender return negotiations with Client team.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years construction estimating experience
Knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and materials
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Good communication and negotiation skills
Professionally qualified preferably construction related or equivalent proven ability and experience in similar role
Proficient computer skills, particularly Conquest estimating software and Excel
Hold a full UK driving license

£50,000 - £55,000 + £525 per month car allowance
