SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wetherby
Position: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £85 - £100 per day
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join one of our welcoming schools in Wetherby. This is a fantastic opportunity to support both the class teacher and students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in managing the full classroom, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Provide one-on-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and reach their potential.
Assist in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with core subjects (English, Maths, etc.).
Build strong, nurturing relationships with students to foster a supportive and caring environment.
Set and maintain appropriate boundaries to ensure pupils' wellbeing and positive behaviour.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement learning strategies and interventions.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting children with SEND (ideally in a classroom setting).
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' individual needs.
Ability to set clear, consistent boundaries to support positive behaviour.
A passion for helping students succeed and an understanding of different learning styles.
