What is the purpose of the Food Safety and Quality Officer?
 
Are you passionate about food safety? We have an exciting opportunity within our clients technical department  The successful candidate will report to both the Site Operations Manager and the Regional Food Safety Manager, delivering the Technical and Quality assurance function required by both legislation and our customers. 
 
What will the responsibilities be of the Food Safety and Quality Officer be?

To assist with the cascade and delivery of key business objectives and performance targets determined for the Technical Department.
To support other departments by providing advice on matters within the technical arena.
To work as part of a team to ensure that the departmental KPIs agreed through the Technical Function are implemented and driving continual improvement.
Ensure that the technical team are adequately prepared for customer visits and audits.
To maintain quality assurance standards in production to deliver compliance to product and customer specification.                                                                                                                                         
To actively promote best practice and strive for Technical to achieve standards of excellence by identifying and implementing corrective actions for non-conformances within the department and provide effective and timely monitoring of all performance data to ensure that improvements, where identified, are realised.
Conduct regular shop floor product quality inspections.
Support the hygiene team with recorded pre-operational inspections, recorded microbial analysis of equipment, notifications of physical plan deficiencies and evaluation of the overall effectiveness of plant clean up where required
Enforce the correct usage of PPE and conduct regular risk assessments on Technical equipment and processes. What skills and qualifications will the Food Safety and Quality Officer have?

Graduate calibre, with food quality/safety qualifications such as Level 2/3 HACCP, Level 2/3 Food Safety Training, Internal Audit Training, allergen training
Previous experience with at least 2 years Technical/FSQ experience
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
Flexible and the ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment
Building relationships across all departments of the business What you will get in return:
