Position: Assistant Estimator/Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks and Civils
Location: Stansted
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Estimator/Quantity Surveyor specialising in Groundworks and Civils. This role offers a clear pathway to senior positions, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to collaborate with Tier 1 main contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tender Management: Review client enquiries, manage tender registers, and analyse tender documentation and drawings.
* Estimating: Prepare and submit tenders, producing detailed rate build-ups using estimating software.
* Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices and quotes.
* Client Interaction: Address tender queries and explore value engineering opportunities with clients.
* Risk Assessment: Evaluate financial, technical, and operational risks associated with projects.
* Surveying Support: Assist the surveying team with lump sum tenders, subcontractor and material quotes, and general liaison.
* Documentation: Produce take-offs, detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and measures for material ordering.
* Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field (desirable).
* 1–2 years working as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator, preferably with a subcontractor.
* Experience in groundworks and civil engineering projects.
