We seek a dedicated Safeguarding Appointeeship Officer to play a crucial and valued role in supporting the Safeguarding work within Adult Social Care. Your responsibilities will include managing and carrying out work with deputyship for service users who lack the mental capacity to manage their finances.

Responsibility

To be responsible for completing applications for receivership and submission to the Court of Protection for Social Services clients identified as requiring someone to deal with their financial affairs, following the Court of Protection's guidelines and procedures.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* Degree in care management, bookkeeping, accounts or equivalent experience

* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM.

Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience

* Good experience working in a finance environment

* Proven experience working in social care, supporting vulnerable people

* Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and able to set up and work with Excel spreadsheets.

* Some knowledge of performance management

* Understanding of financial processes and procedures

* Knowledge of Court of Protection Processes relating to receivers

* Knowledge of welfare benefits related to receivership cases

* Extensive knowledge of Adult Safeguarding

* Knowledge of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and the Mental Capacity Act.

* Proven communication skills, both written and oral

* Good interpersonal skills, including advocacy and negotiation

* Excellent understanding of customer care

* Proven ability to work on your initiative and organise your diary

* Knowledge of adult social care charging systems

* Ability to work with staff at various levels in different organisations.

* Ability to understand, analyse and interpret complex data and management information

* Experience in minuting meetings

Essential Compliance Requirements

* Five Years of Reference.

* Enhanced DBS Checks are required for the role.

* A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
