The Opportunity
Given an increase in projects, our client is currently on the lookout for a Junior Buyer looking to kickstart their career with our client's leading nuclear defence consultancy.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

Supplier Management: 

Assist in the procurement process for nuclear, electrical, and engineering categories, including supplier identification, evaluation, and relationship management.Contract Support
Support contract negotiation and management activities, ensuring terms and conditions, such as NEC 3 & 4, are favorable and compliant.Market Research:
Conduct research on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry regulations to support procurement decisions.Purchase Order Processing:
Process purchase orders, liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, and resolve any discrepancies.Cost Analysis: 
Assist in cost analysis and pricing negotiations to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.Compliance Monitoring: 
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement process, including export controls.Data Management: 
Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and pricing data.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Understanding of procurement processes, including supplier selection, tendering, negotiation and Purchase Order management.
Basic knowledge of procurement regulations and standards.
Utilise ERP systems, such as SAP, for procurement activities and data management.
Familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and systems.
Experience with mini competitions within procurement frameworks.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and finance teams, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business objectives.The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK, and be willing to undergo a security vetting process. Offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.

Travel to other client offices and client sites may be necessary. You should be willing to work flexibly to accommodate project and client requirements.

The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
