Maintenance Engineer (4on 4 off Shift) /Permanent/ Thetford - salary up to £47,897K depending on experience.

Position 1 Recruitment are looking for Maintenance Engineer to join our client food manufacturing site.

As part of the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for minimising downtime, maximize efficiency, and ensure the reliability of automated machinery. Respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot PLC systems, complete electrical installations, and take part with the project work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* To operate to a high degree of both Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards

* To operate within the HSE protocols e.g. Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, Standard Operating Procedures

* To ensure lock off procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of self and others on site.

* To carry out small projects, and modifications as required within any projects

* To be able to quickly assess the nature of a breakdown and act accordingly

* To be confident to share proposals for improvements across the site

* To develop, create and implement maintenance SOP’s

* To carry out PPM inspections and maintenance, and to carry out corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis.

* To carry out general maintenance as required which can include lubrication tasks / schedules.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will have mechanical and electrical experience in manufacturing environments, competency in PLCs, and an aptitude for fault diagnosis.

The candidate will possess recognised engineering qualifications, such as City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines, and be able to work independently, taking full responsibility for their tasks and actions.
