GSL Education are looking for Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN across client schools located in Ashington for the upcoming term of September 2024/ ASAP. Join our team as a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN and help create a supportive and nurturing learning environment for students in Ashington. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of needs. If you are a recent graduate looking to start your career in education and have a genuine desire to support children with SEN, this role could be perfect for you.

As an Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, your responsibilities will include:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet the needs of individual students.
Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
Support with personal care and mobility needs, if required.
Encourage student participation and engagement in class activities.
As an Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, essential requirements include the following:

A degree or equivalent qualification.
A passion for working with children with special educational needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
