We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Buyer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This exciting opportunity will see you managing a portfolio of suppliers across either Powertrain or Chassis commodities, driving value through innovative procurement strategies and supplier collaboration.
About the Role:
As a Senior Category Buyer, you will:
Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to support production growth and cost reduction.
Lead supplier relationship management, ensuring high-quality standards and delivery performance.
Identify and integrate new market technologies to enhance product offerings.
Analyse market trends and provide strategic recommendations for supplier selection.
Drive cost-saving initiatives through value engineering, negotiations, and supply base optimisation.
Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to the overall success of the procurement team.Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar procurement role, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent purchasing experience) is desirable.Additional Information:
