As an experienced Test Engineer, you will be part of the Global Technical Organisation and report to the Test Team Manager at the UK Technical Centre. The role will involve working on motorcycle projects from concept stage through to start of production. You will work alongside and in partnership with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Product Development, and Genuine Motorcycle Accessories. Predominantly, the role provides support to the Chassis Engineering Team to ensure that projects are delivered to meet the requirements from all departments.

Test Engineer Role:

As Test Team Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of motorcycle projects on time and in full. You will begin at early build stage working with other teams within product development until SOP. Benchmarking vehicles is also a key part of the role gathering data and presenting to other Engineers and Technicians within Product Development.

• Follow and help to maintain development and test procedures.
• Plan and conduct UK and overseas motorcycle tests.
• Produce supporting documentation/test reports for development tests and activities.
• Liaise with internal departments such as the Test Team (India), Product Strategy, Industrial Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Assembly.
• Liaise and work with external suppliers as and when required.
• Have a good understanding of the application of regulatory requirements for motorcycles and consider and comply with regulatory requirements where needed.
• Provide guidance to other team members where required.
• Represent the Test Team in interdepartmental meetings in the absence of the Test Team Manager.

Test Engineer Requirements:

• Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable, and/or proven track record in a Motorcycle mechanical environment.
• Strong proven technical background in motorcycles.
• Experienced in the maintenance and evaluation of motorcycles.
• Previous experience in motorcycle development tests.
• Success metrics or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Produce supporting documentation for development tests and activities.
• Successfully complete DVP tests at all stages of Testing.
• Organise/Oversee tests in UK and Overseas.
• Give Feedback and help develop test procedures.
• Good communicator, able to provide clear articulate explanations of evaluations and findings.
• Ability to demonstrate good time management and excellent knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Strong presentation skills and confident speaking.
• Good understanding of the design requirements for mass production motorcycles.
• Flexible, autonomous working style.
• Willingness to travel both in the UK and internationally.
• Valid Full Driving License/Motorcycle Licence preferred but not essential.
