Job Title: Education IT Support Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Education IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team, supporting educational institutions across Hereford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for IT and education, eager to provide first-class technical support to students and staff while working in a rewarding and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide IT support for educational institutions, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues for staff and students, both on-site and remotely.
Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
Install, configure, and update software and hardware, including interactive whiteboards, printers, and projectors.
Support staff with Office 365 administration, including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange.
Provide guidance and training to school staff on the effective use of IT resources.
Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom technology, including laptops, tablets, and audio/visual equipment.
Ensure data security and compliance with relevant IT policies, including GDPR and data protection regulations.
Collaborate with external suppliers and service providers to resolve technical issues.
Assist in the development and implementation of IT projects, such as network upgrades and system migrations.  
Skills & Qualifications
 
Essential:

Proven experience in IT support, preferably within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and troubleshooting Microsoft Office 365.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management.
Basic understanding of networking protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently, managing your time and workload effectively.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment. Desirable:

Experience with educational software and platforms (e.g., SIMS, Google Classroom, or similar).
Knowledge of Mac OS and iOS devices.
Experience working with AV equipment in a classroom setting.
Familiarity with IT policies and procedures related to education, including safeguarding and e-safety.
