Are you a passionate robotics or automation Production Engineer, looking for an exciting new role?

Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for a Production Engineer to work with one of their well-established and very successful clients based in Milton Keynes working as part of their Production team.

Working primarily within the fabrication and welding section in the Manufacturing Engineering / NPI team, the successful candidate will manage and control existing automated and semi-automated capital equipment, alongside exploration, justification, and procurement of new and appropriate automation / robotic solutions into our manufacturing facility. The role is one that is expected to develop and will provide an exciting opportunity for personal development and growth within the company, with the ability to take on further leadership responsibilities in the future This is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact on the development of our automation platform.

Principle Responsibilities for the Production Engineer :-

* Program and parameter setting of automated and semi-automated equipment, including but not limited to twin tandem seam-welding, plasma welding and robotic MAG welding.

* Creation of weld maps and weld sequences to ensure compliance to WPQR’s, relevant internal/external standards and to minimise the effects of distortion

* Propose new design solutions in line with automation advancements to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and improve production throughput and quality.

* Assist with the specification / set-up and commissioning of new robotic equipment & facilities.

* Define layouts for equipment to maximise efficiency within existing process and facility constraints.

* Responsible for initial program generation / program adjustments on existing products.

* Provide hands-on technical support where required to other members of associated departments.

* Assist in the development & integration of automated / robotic welding processes.

* Apply knowledge, understanding & abilities into the training of others.

* Ensure the automated welding facility meets the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards

Person specification:-

* Bachelor’s degree in Robotics / Engineering or 5 years relevant experience.

* Good knowledge of welding processes, joint configurations, and process capabilities.

* PLC programming experience.

* Excellent analytical skills combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills with

* proficiency in computers would be beneficial

* Experience of steel fabrication and machining.

* Broad experience of design, manufacturing, and quality engineering.

* Lean Manufacturing principles and process evaluation experience.

* Basic mechanical and electrical repair skills

* Ability to read engineering drawings.

This is a full time permanent Robotics Production Engineer position, working 40 hours per week (07:30 - 16:30, Monday - Thursday, and 07:30 - 13:30 on Friday)., offering an annual salary of £50,000 plus annual company benefits to include a 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, Gym Membership, bonuses and store discounts.
