Are you a experienced Smoking Cessation Practitioner looking for a new role? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently working alongside a leading charity of drug, alcohol and other health related recovery charity who are searching for a Smoking Cessation Practitioner for an ongoing locum role based from Shepards Bush.
Within your role as a practitioner in this team you will be working within a close-knit multi-disciplinary team that aims to provide support for users looking to reduce or completely stop smoking. You will promote the wider service and options available in order to best aid their recovery & improve health. Interventions will also be delivered across both group & 1-2-1 sessions.
Due to the nature of the role the manager is looking for candidates who can come in and hit the ground running, you will be required to be NCSCT trained for this role.
This role is working full time 37.5 hours per week (9am-5pm) ideally part time working may be possible if full time posts not filled. The role is initially on an ongoing locum basis, however there are permanent positions available meaning after an initial period of between 3-4 months there is a high chance your role will be made permanent.
Duties
* Working within a team, aiding health improvement of all that come into your care
* To liaise with GPs and other members of the primary care team and community to promote the service and encourage appropriate referrals.
* To provide high quality tobacco dependence behavioural support and pharmacological advice in accordance with the NCSCT guidelines to those wishing to stop smoking or stop using smokeless tobacco.
* To support the running and evaluation of smoking cessation clinics in a range of setting by assessing clients’ motivation and readiness to quit, taking calls and answering enquiries from clients.
* To organise and deliver smoking cessation support groups and individual appointments, including in-person and remote support, to reduce barriers to accessing support.
The manager is looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for helping those within cessation services, you will need a strong background/knowledge set of smoking cessation services/illnesses and the common problems faced by those in your care. You will also need the ability to formulate, implement and maintain care plans & risk assessments.
In return for your commitment, we are able to offer a very competitive rate of pay of between £19.01 - £20.01 per hour dependent on experience, however it may be possible to negotiate above this for candidates with exceptional experience.
