Core Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon–Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri).
Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent and Hybrid (3-4 days in the office and subject to operational needs)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (subject to experience)​

JOB SUMMARY

​NP Aerospace is looking for an experienced Bid Co-ordinator to support the Bid Team Leader and other members of the bid team in delivering current contract and future business requirements through the management, drafting, negotiation and agreement of commercially, technically, and financially robust proposals in line with business objectives.

​The successful candidate will be assessing the explicit requirements of solicitations (such as invitations to tender, pre-qualification questionnaires etc) alongside developing accurate, competitive, highly literate bids and well-informed responses in a timely manner and to bid budget.

​You will be working collaboratively with the Bid Team Leader, other Bid Team members, and senior management across the two UK and North American business units (Composites and Armour Systems & Vehicle Systems, Services, & Spares), and the NP Aerospace Executive team routinely.

​Bids will vary in size and complexity, with values ranging from small (£5K-£10K) up to exceptionally large, multi-million-pound opportunities.

​Please Note: This is a hybrid role. You will be mainly based on-site with home working available when suitable and with manager approval.

JOB DUTIES​

1. To manage pre-bid activities as required, including responses to Expressions of Interest (EoI), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and Requests for Information (RFI).

2. Assisting on bid preparation activities, culminating in the delivery of robust proposals.

3. To track and internally report the status of all bids at all levels of the organisation in a structured and clear way.

4. To provide Bid Management services on Major and Minor Bids within the Company, taking either full or joint ownership for Bid Preparation, Delivery from Bid/No-Bid to Contract Acceptance, cooperating and collaborating with all other necessary business functions to do so.

5. In conjunction with Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Quality teams, develop technical and service solutions to address Customer requirements.

6. ​To assist the Bid Team Leader, and other members of the bid team to lead and manage Bid Teams, including ensuring that all relevant resources are available as required.

7. To work with the Cost Engineer on Cost / Price Estimation, primarily in support of Target Cost setting for Bids, or for the preparation of rapid turnaround ROM price submissions.

8. To ensure all Project Risks are captured, quantified and, where feasible, mitigated at the Bid Stage.

9. To plan, structure, author (in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts and other members of the bid team) and review proposal documents, ensuring accuracy, quality of presentation and consistent implementation of Win Themes.

10. To ensure the management of all internal stakeholders on bids is carried out professionally and appropriately, with formal commercial agreements where required for Key Partners, Sub-Contractors and Strategic Suppliers.

ABILITY ASSESSMENT

If you progress to the next stage of the process, we will ask you to create a Bid Letter for submission to a potential NP Aerospace Limited customer for an armour product opportunity. More information will be provided if you are selected for an interview.

EXPERIENCE​

* Experience of bid coordinating, including the ability to draft highly literate responses in support of specific requirements.

* Experience of contracting with Prime Defence Contractors, UK MoD and related agencies, and Export Customers.

* High level of numeracy / literacy, and a good standard of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications (Word / Excel).

* A good level of technical proficiency preferably underpinned by formal technical/engineering qualifications

* Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness

* Ability to create effective working relationships within a challenging environment

* Ability to communicate (and report) at all levels within the business

* Strong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers and subordinates

* Experience of Cost Estimation / Cost Engineering an asset
