Clerk Of Works - Housing

This is a great opportunity for a knowledgeable and detailed candidate to work with a North West consultancy on housing / social housing projects throughout the North West.

The role is fully remote with the occasional office day (no more than once per month) and obviously visits to the various North West Sites

Duties will include

* On appointment of a contract become familiar with the Employers Requirements, Contractors Proposals, Contract Programme, all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them, and using them as a reference when inspecting works.

*Perform duties to comply with various regulations such as CDM Regulations, Planning Approvals, Building Regulations, NHBC/Premier or other consents or approvals as deemed necessary.

*Produce and issue weekly progress/observation reports including quality issues and the actions taken to address them for the Client and/or Client’s representative.

*Attend site inspections and visits to
-monitor the progress and quality of the works in compliance with contract/specification documents including progress against the construction programme.
-carry out visual inspection and highlight in the on-site book any areas of concern or actions required
-inspect the quality of works

*Witness commissioning of services installations and report in the event of any problems.

* Inspect snagging lists and ensure completion to standard

* Inspect properties at Making Good Defects stage, create lists and issue to Contractors.

This role would be suitable to someone already in a COW role, or someone looking to take a different path after a career in Site Management or Contracts Management where they are no longer wanting to be based on site full time.

You should have residential construction experience, be able to read and understand programmes and drawings and NHBC / LABC Regulations
