Position: HSE Co-Ordinator
Location: Aberdeen area, and covering sites in Glenrothes, Stracathro and Ellon
PAYE Pay rate: £300/day, Including Holiday Pay
Hours: 8:30-16:30 shifts - Monday to Friday
Contract: 6 Months
The Company:
Our client operate three Gas-to-grid Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants, utilising non-waste feedstocks. We are seeking an EHS Co-ordinator to join our team and help deliver EHS compliance and best practice across our three operational sites, Glenrothes, Stracathro and Ellon
This key post will report directly to the Directors and will work with both Operations and Maintenance Managers, together with other team members, providing technical expertise, direct action and support, focussed monitoring and reassurance, together with planning and budgeting as required.
The Role:
The successful candidate will have experience of working on large, fast paced industrial projects. You will be responsible for working very closely with the Site Management team, maintaining health and safety standards and documentation whilst on site.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Acting as the internal source of EHS expertise, through keeping up to date with regulatory and best practice provisions and developing / future practice
Working with key team members to ensure EHS compliance and best practice across all operational aspects, providing advice, guidance and direct support and input as necessary
Maintaining a frequent, high-profile and professional presence across all three operational sites to drive EHS compliance through collaborative working and direct support and input as necessary
Identifying EHS training needs and delivering these either directly or via externally-sourced providers, maintain up-to-date and accurate training records and ensure refresher / update training is scheduled and delivered as required
Work with Operational and Maintenance Managers to maintain, update and action competency matrices across key roles
Conducting regular EHS site inspections and checks,
Ensure EHS documentation is effectively controlled, rolled-out, reviewed and where necessary, updated
Manage the contractor approval system and provide EHS support,
Develop and manage a compliance database covering key operational EHS risk controls
Lead a program of risk assessment as required
Interact with key regulators (SEPA, HSE, Local Authority etc) as required,
Undertaking, if necessary with the support of external expertise, quarterly compliance reviews and annual compliance / best practice audits, producing concise key-issue reports and recommendations for the management team
Develop, with the Directors, and manage the EHS budget
Lead accident and near-miss investigations,
Continuous development and evaluation of the efficiency of controls that are in place, Attend (via Teams) weekly Operations Calls, providing updates, status reports and driving awareness and understanding of key EHS operational aspects
Review and enhance emergency and Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery provisions as required
procedures and other related insurance requirements including Business Contuity, Disaster recovery plans and cybersecurity plans
Manage the appointment and input of specialist external contractors required in pursuance of EHS compliance
Other EHS-related duties that from time-to-time may arise
Required:
Previous Mechanical, Oil & Gas, Power Station Construction project experience
NEBOSH Essential
Operational experience in delivering EHS in a multi-risk industrial environment
Desired:
Experience in the development and implementation of ISO45001 / 14001 OHS/EHS management systems
Experience of anaerobic digestion plants
Relevant professional (technician level or senior) qualification
