We have an exciting opportunity for Part Time Teaching Assistants to join us at Portfield School, working 2 or 3 days per week.
Our Teaching Assistants are vital in ensuring each student reaches their full potential. Each TA does this by developing a positive working relationships with our students understanding their likes, dislikes and interests so that all lessons are personalised.
Working at Portfield School is unbelievably rewarding and we guarantee that no two days will be the same, this does come with some challenges which may be both physically and emotionally demanding at times. You will not be alone! Ongoing support will always be available from your team members, line manager, Leadership team, mental Health First aiders or our Employee Assistance programme.
We love celebrating all the amazing achievements here at school whether it’s painting a picture, trying a new food, correctly answering a maths equation or a short conversation with someone new, all on the same day with equal joy and it doesn’t stop there, we want the feel good factor all the time!
We have a variety of shifts available - either 2 or 3 days per week. The hours are:
Monday - 8:30am - 4pm
Tuesday – 08:30 – 4:30pm
Wednesday -08:30 – 4pm
Thursday - 8:30am - 4pm
Friday - 8:30am - 3:30pm
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, we are looking for someone who:
* Can easily adapt themselves in different situations
* Has a fun and supportive nature
* Doesn’t hesitate to play and get messy
* Displays a calm approach, even when under pressure
* Will support with personal care such as nappies and toilet training
* Can participate in any exercise and activities required
* Will use their initiative where needed
