Quantity Surveyor

How will you make an impact?

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, your role as the Quantity Surveyor on the National Gas Transmission Framework is to be Yokogawa focal point for contractual and commercial matters. The Quantity Surveyor is expected to be constantly reviewing and managing any costs associated within the Framework projects, while safeguarding the position of Yokogawa in any cost or schedule related discussions.

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for keeping the project manager and the design team informed regarding budget, is able to identify any future risks, and challenging on buildability and value engineering issues when necessary.

What will you do?

+ Work with/support the Project Managers daily, to ensure projects are meeting commercial and financial targets.

+ Using their experience to drive commercial processes into the team of Quantity Surveyors

+ Deep working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts preferably Options A, C and E.

+ Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to the Operations and Project Managers on/for: PPR/CVR/Cash Flow/Weekly Updates etc.

+ Preparation and submission of monthly valuations & forecasting

+ Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget

+ Pricing and submission of contract variations,

+ Understand and provide advice and guidance on the terms of the contract and any conditions precedent therein, not least regarding the times for giving notices and making applications

+ Assisting the proposal team for obtaining pricing and engineering estimates,

+ Client Liaison and resolving pricing issues with clients,

+ Agreement of variations / final account with client QS,

+ Attendance at site progress / contract review meetings,

+ Assisting with the commercial Quality Assurance project review phase gates

How will you get here?

+ Experience in a similar role within Construction, Design and Management projects.

+ Minimum Degree qualification Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification.

+ Experience of commercially running multiple large projects in the value of £35 - 90Million.

+ Have knowledge of ISO 9001, Health & Safety at Work

+ Expert working knowledge of NEC Option A, B and C

+ Hold a full UK driving licence.
