Youth Justice Case Worker

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 36 hrs/week
Our client are seeking a Youth Justice Case Worker to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people.
Manage a caseload of young people who have been either referred by the Police or ordered by the court, ensuring that a holistic assessment of need supports a robust intervention
Support children, young people and families with a range of needs and risks
Support with repairing harm, increasing social capital, education, emotional wellbeing and feeling safe
Promoting and maximising the welfare and the safeguarding of young people that have entered criminal youth justice system and increasing awareness and confidence in the youth justice system
Undertake assessments, write reports, complete single assessments if the child is deemed to meet threshold for a section 17 assessment
Hold both court orders and court of court work, attend Youth court and act as court officer including occasional court Requirements
Educated at level 4 or above professional qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Children and Youth, Social Care, Probation)
MUST have YJS caseworker experience
Experience of working with children, young people and families with offending behaviour
Ability to write clear and concise court reports, bail packages, panel reports
Experience and understanding of how Courts work and of relevant Youth Justice legislation, including sentencing and bail/remand
