Lodestone Recruitment are currently working in partnership with our client in Sheffield who have a requirement for a Production Manager. Our client works across various sectors and are a fast growing company, with exciting projects that they are working towards as they continue their next phase of growth. They require a capable and ambitious Production Manager with knowledge and a background in fabrication and welding.

Candidates should have the following experience and skills to be considered for the role:

Apprentice trained or have time served as a Welder/Plater.

Ideally worked in Structural, Oil and Gas, Defence, Aerospace or similar sectors.

A good grounding in fabrication.

Good organisation skills in Production planning.

Ability to motivate a team to carry out their duties.

Assisting with technical aspects of jobs in all disciplines when required.

Being a quality driven individual

What the job entails:

Managing a team of around 30 people, consisting of welders, platers, and other shopfloor staff.

Ensuring the team is working to schedule, and that production demands are met.

Ensuring working procedures are followed at all times.

Ensuring that each job has the correct material, tooling, technical information and paperwork.

Ensuring that all previous operations have been signed off.

Lead continuous improvement activities and support initiatives to improve efficiencies.

Conduct briefings, tool box talks, minor accident investigation and inspection related to H&S.

Encourage the team to be the best they can, and promote personal development, including carrying out personal development reviews and training.

The offer for the role of Production Manager:

Salary: £50k

Location: Sheffield

Shifts: Regular days

Hours: 37.5-hour working week, but there will provisions to ensure that the work is completed

Pension: Attractive company pension
