The Mechanical Designer/Mechanical Design Engineer job itself where you will collaborate closely with clients, project managers/engineers and estimators to understand their requirements and develop innovative solutions.
You will be responsible for performing load calculations, duct sizing, equipment selection and co-ordinating with other trades to ensure we delivery an optimal system performance. In addition, you will be involved in reviewing external design solutions and you will be required to conduction site inspections and provide technical support. More specifically:
Design and develop HVAC systems for industrial and commercial premises.
Design calculations including duct sizing, equipment, pipework etc.
Technical support for the project team.
Assist the estimating team by sourcing quotations from suppliers and vetting quotations for compliance with employer’s requirement, specifications, and standards etc.
Stay up to date with the latest regulations and standards and merging technologies.
Review design and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
Co-ordinate with clients, architects, and project teams.
You will have
To be successful as Mechanical Designer/Mechanical Design Engineer you will have experience working within the Building Services Sector as an Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer, with either a Consultancy or a Contracting background. Plus a healthy mix of the following:
HND in Mechanical Engineering or building services.
Proficient using CAD/Revit
Proficient using HVAC software.
Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of regulations and building codes.
Professional membership would be advantageous.
