Pure Care are seeking a Maintenance Worker / Handyman for a fantastic Elderly Care Home in the Slough area. They are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Person to join their beautiful care home on a full time, permanent contract working Monday to Friday.

* Monday to Friday (8am-4pm / 9am-5pm, flexibility with shifts)

* £32,000 per annum

Job description

As the full-time Maintenance Person / Handyman you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You will have a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements including, but not limited to: basic plumbing and electrical work, HVAC, equipment repairs and interior/exterior finishes.

You must have good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.

You will be working for an established, medium-sized care company with a strong history of supporting and developing their staff. Care Home Maintenance Person responsibilities

* Identify and carry out repairs and improvements in accordance to the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.

* Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Care Home, reporting and recording any incidents, accidents or hazards/ faults.

* Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the home on weekly, monthly and annual basis.

Care Home Maintenance Person skills & experience

* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills

* Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Head of Maintenance is preferred

* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/Diploma/City & Guilds and Health & Safety/NEBOSH certificate
