GPS Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing General Manager. The GM will lead from the front and be a strategist and a leader who can steer the company to the most profitable direction while also having the ability to implement the company’s vision, mission and long-term goals.

Key tasks and responsibilities

* Controlling and overseeing all business operations, personnel and ventures.

* Overall success of the business, for improved efficiency and increased profits whilst running of the overall operations of both sites. That both sites achieve strategic goals, KPI’s and operate within financial budgets & targets.

* Directing the activities of the business while ensuring bottom line profitability.

* Providing strategic advice to the board of directors, plan cost effective business strategies and develop new ideas based on market and industry

* Establishing company goals, aligned with the board and shareholder goals

* Developing reporting tools to monitor the ongoing performance of the company

* Communicating company reports and achievements to the board, shareholders and business partners

* Develop and maintain a workforce plan which ensures that the business has the correct levels of flexible, multi-skilled and experienced staff to meet the demands of the business requirements at present and transformational growth in the future

* Implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement of service provided to our customers, supervising Managers and providing leadership and motivation to all employees

* Defining operational goals and making sure that the organisation works towards achieving them

* Liaising/working with Directors to ensure a consistent approach to running the organisation

Keys Skills & Desired Attributes

* Previous experience of working in a senior management role.

* Proven ability to lead.

* Highly developed organisational skills.

* Excellent analytical skills that can be used when making critical decisions.

* A high level of proven project management ability.

* An in-depth understanding of productivity management and how to implement change to improve productivity levels.

* Understanding of working in a fast-paced environment, bespoke product manufacture and patient focused expectations.

* Significant experience around business development.

* Highly developed level of strategic thinking that has been proven in a business environment.

* Significant experience of working in a senior management role.
