Behaviour Support Salary: £95 to £110 per day

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s South Yorkshire branch is seeking committed and empathetic individuals to join our client schools as Behaviour Support. This role provides a unique opportunity to support students in overcoming behavioural challenges, promoting a positive learning environment, and gaining valuable experience within the education sector.

Job Summary: As a Behaviour Support, you will work closely with teachers and the school’s pastoral team to provide targeted support to students who may be experiencing behavioural difficulties. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing behaviour management strategies, supporting students’ social and emotional development, and helping to maintain a calm and focused classroom atmosphere.

Behaviour Support Job Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and strategies to help students manage their behaviour effectively.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on improving their behaviour and engagement in learning.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of tailored interventions designed to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Monitor and record student behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and the pastoral team to inform future support strategies.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support the school’s behaviour management policies by helping to maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
Encourage positive behaviour through consistent reinforcement and the use of appropriate rewards and sanctions.
Provide additional support to students with special educational needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
The Essential Requirements for a Successful Behaviour Support:

Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges, is highly desirable.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students who may have complex needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A commitment to supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of young people.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
