Currently looking for a Principal Engineer (Process Control) to join a client of mine in south-east England.

My client are world leaders in the gas industry, specialising in turnkey projects.
The Principal Engineer will provide technical, leadership and management, and co-ordinate activities for the business, in accordance with achieving the Company’s vision, mission and strategy.

Role responsibilities -

Lead fostering a strong team work ethic.
Maintain an openness to feedback on one’s own performance and a commitment to implementing agreed performance/behavioral changes.
Work positively with current; and establish new, good working relationships with customers, contractors and suppliers.
Be a key team member for engineering projects by defining the commercial, process and technical strategy for the project and preparing appropriate design and project documentation.
Help deliver multiple projects within budget and timescales.
Strict adherence to iProject and Planner business tools.

Direct/Manage -

• Prepare design and detail drawings of equipment and systems, including the procurement and use of external engineering services, when required.
• Provide software engineering.
• Identify appropriate equipment and hardware to meet project requirements.
• Participate in HAZOPs studies or risk assessment to evaluate the safe working and operability of the plant and the integrity of plant protection systems.
• Approve vendor package systems.
• Undertake all requirements including expediting, for the external procurement of all necessary equipment and hardware.
• Undertake site surveys and supervise the site installation of systems and hardware by external sub-contractors, including the technical vetting of tender proposals from the alternative contractors, interviewing short listed candidates and monitoring performance to programme, installation quality standards and safe working practices.
