One of our high-profile housing associations is looking for a proficient Floor and Wall Coverings Operative to support the maintenance of housing assets, ensuring they meet statutory and regulatory standards. This role is crucial in providing quality rented housing, enhancing tenant satisfaction, and maintaining strong landlord-tenant relationships while prioritising health and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Ensure all installations within individual dwellings and communal areas are fully, safely, and correctly maintained in accordance with legislation and local standards.
Perform tasks such as repair, overhaul, renew, remove, install, replace, lay, make good, fix, ease, service, match to existing, inspect, demolish, patch, and service.
Maintain the integrity of property structures, focusing on internal and external wall and floor coverings.
Conduct works on wall and floor coverings where it is the responsibility of Housing Services.
Fault find and undertake remedial works related to water penetration and damp issues. Ensure wall and floor coverings are in a reasonable state of repair, minimising inconvenience to customers.
Carry out specialised work, including the safe removal and disposal of non-licensable asbestos-based textured coatings.
Mitigate risks of exposing residents to pollutants such as uncombusted fuel gas and carbon monoxide.
Proactively identify faults and deliver solutions, prescribing repairs rather than replacements where feasible.
Adhere to best practices and cooperate with the employer to ensure a safe working environment.
Assess and report any serious health and safety risks, including safeguarding issues and building defects.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude, representing industry best practices. Comply with all relevant policies and processes, meeting individual and team success measures.
Maintain professional qualifications and partake in required training.
Complete tasks associated with work specifications, including wall and floor finishes.
Train and mentor apprentices, supporting work experience and training needs.Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in Flat-lay, Vinyl and Wet Room Floor fitting would be highly advantageous.
Relevant experience in floor and wall coverings maintenance.
Ability to fault find and undertake remedial works.
