Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Northampton

Pay Range/details: £42,000-£47,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega is seeking a highly motivated Production Engineer, to join our client located in the Northampton area, who are a leader in the engineering, motorsport and automotive sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities - Production Engineer

Be involved in the development of CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using various software packages.
Develop precision CNC grinding programs for a variety of specialized grinding machines.
Manage the timely and budget-conscious release of new products into production.
Develop and maintain process documentation and test instructions for product builds.
Accurately estimate production timelines and costs.
Coordinate across departments to ensure seamless transitions from design to production, including rapid prototypes.
Work with the supply chain to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements - Production Engineer

Proven experience in machining complex components within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Degree or minimum HNC).
Proficient in CAD/CAM systems (preferably NX12 or equivalent).
Experience with ERP systems.
Knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a willingness to adapt to changing project needs.
