This term-time only role is designed for a passionate educator ready to support children who find mainstream environments challenging. Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll help create a positive and nurturing atmosphere where students can thrive.

* Position: Functional Skills Teacher

* Location: Nottingham Area

* Type: Permanent, Term-Time Only

* Salary: £33,000 - £35,200 (pro-rata)

* Start Date: ASAP (flexible for notice periods)

About the Learning Centre

This Learning Centre specializes in helping children who need extra support to succeed. By prioritizing emotional needs and providing tailored learning experiences, they ensure every student has the opportunity to grow in confidence and achieve their best. With a focus on small group teaching and 1:1 support, this is a place where every teacher can make a real difference.

Your Mission

* Work with small groups of 5-10 pupils and provide 1:1 support, adapting to their individual learning and emotional needs.

* Deliver Functional Skills lessons in Maths, English, and ICT, using creativity and care to engage students.

* Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to create a fun, positive learning environment.

* Help students overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

What We’re Looking For

* A PGCE, BA (Hons) in Education, or equivalent qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

* A passion for supporting children with additional needs, particularly those who thrive in alternative settings.

* Excellent adaptability to respond to the emotional needs of students.

* A proactive, optimistic, and collaborative approach to teaching.
