Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a skilled and compassionate Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in West Bromwich. This is a long-term, ongoing role starting after February half term, where you will work closely with children with additional needs to support their learning and development in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with ASD and other special educational needs.
· Help children with emotional and social development.
· Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
· Work closely with parents and other professionals to monitor and track student progress.
· Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
· Location - West Bromwich
· Position - SEN TA - 1:1 / Group Support
· Type of work - SEN Teaching Assistant - Supporting children with additional needs
· Start date - ASAP
· Duration - Long term opportunity for the rest of the academic year
· End date (if applicable) - July 2025
· Contract type - Temporary
· Full time
· Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP90 per day
· Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30pm (full day)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
· Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
· Previous experience working with children with ASD and other special educational needs. Working in a UK school - in either permanent or long-term roles
· Knowledge of SEND provisions and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
· A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with diverse learning needs.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
