Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker
London Borough of Redbridge are looking to expand their current team with a dedicated Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker looking for an opportunity to join a well-structured and organised team. As well as joining a well supervised team our client also offers opportunities for training to enhance your skills and excellent support within the team. This Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.
Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker responsibilities include:
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in need.
Analysing information and making recommendations on the appropriate services or support for individual children and their families.
Co-ordinating or contributing to assessments of need, including initial, core, court and other specialist assessments.
Conducting Age Assessments
Knowledge of Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 - Broad understanding immigration rules/Home Office guidance
Dealing with more complex or unusual cases, assessing and managing risks appropriately
Minimum Requirements / Experience preferred:
Post qualifying experience of working as an Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Social Worker within the UK Social Care industry.
SWE Registration
2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
