Astute's Renewables team are proudly partnered with a leading company within the EV Charging Infrastructure sector who are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in the Central Belt region of Scotland.
The strategically important Senior Quantity Surveyor role comes with a salary up to £55,000, with a £450 per month car allowance, 30 days annual leave, paid travel and more.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will:
Lead, mentor and provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and support staff.
Develop cost estimates, budgets and detailed cost plans for projects.
Conduct feasibility studies to determine material, labour and time requirements.
Evaluate the cost-efficiency of projects or services, comparing actual costs against initial bids as the project progresses.
Draft, review and ensure compliance of contracts with legal and regulatory standards.
Manage contracts and negotiate terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors.
Resolve contract-related disputes and handle any contract amendments.
Oversee project costs and monitor progress to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
Prepare and analyse cost reports, forecasts and cash flow statements.
Implement cost-saving measures and identify risks or areas for cost optimization.
Prepare tender documents, including contracts, budgets and bills of quantities.
Assess tenders from contractors and subcontractors for compliance and value.
Ensure all submissions align with project requirements and technical specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects and other stakeholders for smooth project execution.
Provide advice on contractual claims and manage project finances from initiation to completion.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Demonstrable experience in quantity surveying - preferably within renewable energy or large scale construction projects.
Excellent knowledge within construction standards, materials and processes.
A higher education or degree qualification in construction, civil engineering, business or commercial management or a similar field of study.
Previous construction, civil or structural engineering experience would be advantageous.
Additional qualifications in construction operations, CSCS, UKPIA, health and safety etc. would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to remote nature of the sites.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor role would suit someone who is or has:
Proficient in the use of cost estimating tools and other software such as Microsoft Office programs.
A strong attention to detail and a commercial awareness.
A strong respect to health and safety and safe working practices
Excellent planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexible to travel.
