Exciting Opportunity: Cost Manager Position in Buckingham
Join our client, a leading Cost and Project Management Consultancy in the construction industry, offering diverse services across various sectors. They are currently looking to hire a Cost Manager in Buckingham.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and delivering QS services for fee-earning projects in the residential team, particularly in social housing
- Developing the team's professional and interpersonal skills
- Ensuring staff awareness and delivery of responsibilities
- Providing exemplary service to clients
- Handling full commercial contract administration from tender to final account
- Procurement, negotiation, and supply chain management
- Producing cost reconciliations and monthly forecasting for projects
- Managing Risk and Opportunity processes for project benefit
- Collaborating within a team to meet client deliverables
- Conducting client office and site visits
- Working on multiple contracts simultaneously with different clients
- Upholding company standards in all undertakings
- Ensuring timely and high-standard contract delivery
Key Attributes:
- Experience in the Social Housing sector
- Proficiency in Quantity Surveying duties
- Commercial negotiation skills
- Strong decision-making abilities for client benefit
- Familiarity with contract management (JCT suite / NEC)
- Commercially savvy and numerically adept
- Well-organized with effective planning skills
- Proficient in clear and concise communication
- IT literate, especially in Microsoft Office/Excel
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related technical discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ construction industry experience
- Previous consultancy or end-user client background
- Team-oriented, flexible, and ambitious
- Proven track record in project management and team collaboration
