Job Title: Site Engineer - Structures (Highways)
Location: Gloucester
Rate: £420 - £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 12 months (potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer - Structures to join a major highways project in Gloucester. This is a long-term contract role, offering an excellent opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project with a 12-month initial contract and potential extension.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key structures works, ensuring quality, safety, and technical compliance throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the setting out and delivery of structural elements, including bridges, retaining walls, and other highway structures.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and project quality standards.
Assist in managing subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth project progress.
Carry out quality control checks and inspections to maintain high construction standards.
Support the project team in maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.
Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed on-site.
Liaise with designers, senior engineers, and stakeholders to resolve any technical issues.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Site Engineer working on highway structures projects.
Strong understanding of bridges and structural works within major infrastructure projects.
Experience with setting out, quality control, and site supervision.
Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. DMRB, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations).
Excellent awareness of health and safety regulations.
CSCS card required; SMSTS or SSSTS is beneficial.
Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
This role is inside IR35, offering a competitive daily rate of £420 - £450. Immediate start available.
