Machine Shop Assistant

Cheltenham – Part time (Circa 24 hours – 3 Days) – Permanent – Salary from £14ph

Due to demand our client is searching for a Machine Shop Assistant, are you experienced in a manufacturing environment seeking a part time role with variety? Look no further!

The Role:

·        Assisting with general workshop duties.

·        Handling and preparing raw materials for machining.

·        Loading and unloading CNC/manual machines under supervision.

·        Performing basic quality checks on finished components.

·        Cleaning and maintaining work areas, tools, and machinery.

·        Organising and storing tooling, fixtures, and consumables.

·        Assisting with packing and dispatching finished products.

·        Transporting finished high value products.

·        Adhering to health & safety regulations and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The Person:

·        Previous experience in a machine shop or engineering environment.

·        Conscientious, great team player and communicator.

·        Basic understanding of machining processes.

·        Good manual dexterity and a keen eye for detail.

·        Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team.

·        Physically fit and able to lift moderate weights safely.

·        Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

·        Holder of UK Drivers licence

·        Desirable – PAT Testing, able to assist with machining and Inspection
