A leading global energy company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to report into the Mechanical Supervisor and work as part of a team who are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
Interpret job requirements from preventative maintenance instruction, specifications and / or other documentation
Install mechanical equipment in accordance with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, procedures, and guidelines
Fault Finding knowledge in the overhaul & repair of Hydraulic systems
Understanding of the testing and repair of Safety Relief valves
Support the ISSOW process and adopt the role of Permit Acceptor as appropriate
Provide feedback on all maintenance tasks to allow collation of asset history, whether that be written, electronic or verbal
Diagnose physical cause of mechanical equipment breakdown / failure and propose / complete repairs to the site standards and engage technical resources as needed to support operations
Create SAP notifications for defects
Respond to any out of hours call out where required
Prepare jobs for execution in support of the schedule under direction of the supervisor, as part of fall-back work including but not limited to checking scaffold, withdrawing spares, preparing tools etc
Experience & Qualifications
Candidates will have completed a relevant approved apprenticeship or hold an NVQ level in Mechanical Engineering
Hold a minimum City & Guilds or ONC certificate in Mechanical Engineering
Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, valves, fin fan coolers, heat exchangers and relief valves
Ideally hold extensive experience in a maintenance role within the oil and gas industry
Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP
Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role (Work at Height, Work in Confined Spaces, Ability to wear Breathing Apparatus)
