SEN Primary Teaching Assistant – Urmston (M41)
Teaching Personnel are seeking a full-time TA to cover in a KS2 Special Education Class. This position starts as soon as possible, potentially going long-term until the end of the academic year. This position pays £83.85+ per day, paid weekly via PAYE through Teaching Personnel.
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join this excellent school’s team on a full-time basis, providing crucial support to a KS2 class consisting of 9 children with significant learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing pre-verbal communication challenges and handling challenging behaviours associated with special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational support (following EHCPs) to students with diverse learning needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the individual development of each student.
Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions as directed by the class teacher.
Implement behaviour management strategies effectively to support students with challenging behaviours.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher, TA3, and other TA1's to ensure consistency and effectiveness in supporting student progress.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a KS2 setting.
Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviours and adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external support services.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with learning difficulties.
