gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Toolmaker to work at their facility based near Skelmersdale

Performance Objectives

Switching tools in and out of Injection Moulding machines
General operation of machine
Maintenance of Injection moulding machine
General maintenance work including cleaning and polishing tools
Maintain, repair, modify and improve production related to Injection moulding, maintain and improve efficiency, reliability and quality
Investigate and resolve tool and machine related problems
Compile maintenance records for each tool to provide detailed history of work carried out
Identify root causes of technical related problems to provide effective countermeasures
Justify and recommend changes to components, tooling or associated equipment
A knowledge of mechanical Engineering and a varied back ground in Factory / Manufacturing environmentsPerson Specification

Exposure to and understanding of Injection moulding within the Plastics industry.
Knowledge of Injection moulding
Knowledge of tool design and understanding of tool drawings
Capable of working to high tolerances, within a precision engineering environment
Understanding of key process techniques (Injection Moulding)
Must be able to communicate effectively with external toolmakers on repairs and new tooling.
IT proficient
Able to use both hand and power tools, centre lathe, milling machines and surface grinder.
A willingness to progress and eventually lead a team.Apply
