Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Care Home Cleaner in Birmingham area

To work as Caretaker and to be a member of a team in providing a stimulating and quality Day Service to individual service users and their careers. To maintain a clean, safe and secure working environment for all staff and service Users, whilst promoting and maintaining Health and Safety standards, policies and procedures

MUST HAVE ENHANCED DBS

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am till 4.30pm with 1h unpaid lunch

Pay rate: £12.

Location: Multiple locations available Mosely, Harborne, Sutton Coldfield

Duties and Responsibilities:

To maintain the security of the building, surrounding areas and off site units bylocking/unlocking the buildings, checking for damage and repair, and reporting these to management team where necessary

To carry out on-site maintenance and repairs of equipment and environment, within the remit of the Health and Safety Act and capabilities.

To act as a key worker for the buildings and respond to calls out-of-hours, as and when required.
Assist in the adequate support of cleaning materials, toilet tissues and soap in appropriate areas and deal with any deliveries from suppliers.
To immediately report any repairs or accidents to the management team.
To assist in the general cleaning and maintenance of the buildings as and when required.
To assist and deal with laundry items including use of washing machine and tumble dryer.
To check all fire exits and keep access clear at all times to check that windows and doors are secure when the building is evacuated.
To load, transfer and transport service users to and from the day centre, colleges and other leisure areas/pursuits.
To be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and safety of vehicles and report any faults to the management team. To record journeys in the vehicle log books and re-fuel the vehicle as and when required.
To carry out any other responsibilities within the scope and spirit of the job purpose and grade as may be required from time to time.
