An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading global company. This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to advance their career.

In this position, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team developing innovative equipment. You’ll oversee the full lifecycle of projects, from interpreting customer requirements and conceptual design to manufacturing support, testing, and installation. As part of this role, you’ll engage in R&D and continuous improvement activities, ensuring the products remain at the forefront of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and oversee technical delivery across multi-disciplinary teams.

* Develop mechanical engineering solutions aligned with client specifications, from concept through to in-service support.

* Identify and lead R&D initiatives and improvement projects.

* Investigate safety and technical challenges using structured problem-solving methods.

* Provide technical support to suppliers, internal teams, and customers, including witnessing factory tests and inspections.

* Create technical appraisal documents for marine classification societies.

* Manage project requirements, risks, assumptions, interfaces, and issues throughout the design phases.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it with IMECHE or similar institution.

* Experience in a highly regulated industry, ideally marine or offshore oil & gas.

* Proven track record in delivering projects to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

* Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD systems (e.g., AutoCAD, Creo) and experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
