gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a CAD/CAM Engineer / Designer to work at their facility based near Skelmersdale

Performance Objectives

Create and develop 2D and 3D CAD designs based on technical specifications and customer requirements.
Generate and optimise CNC programs using CAM software for precision machining.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards.
Download and control Data in/out SET.
Analyse new ECR requests against existing Data.
Create drawings.
Generate cutter paths. / Power shape.
Review and modify existing designs to enhance performance and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues in collaboration with production staff.
Maintain accurate documentation of designs, drawings, and production processes.Person Specification

5+ years' experience in a CAD/CAM Operator role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Injection mould experience essential.
3D Solid modelling experience.
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360).
Experience with CAM programming and CNC machining processes.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing techniques, and engineering principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
