Multimodal Operator AIR/X-Trade

The Air/X Trade department at our clients office in Basildon are seeking a Multimodal operator for immediate start.

The Air/X-Trade department at our clients hq offers both sea X-Trade and airfreight shipments globally, for this specific role, experience with a stronger focus on handling airfreight shipments would be an advantage. Experience with other modes will be considered and can be discussed during interview.

Main duties:

Handling various elements of Airfreight movements (domestic and international) with a goal to take on and assist the X Trade / Multimodal team with trade movements. Aspects of the role will also focus on covering Sea Export Operations, Sea X-Trade Operations.

Stakeholder Liaison:

Liaising with China offices

Liaising with all suppliers

Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances.

Liaising with our own and other 3rd party warehouses when required.

Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries.

Experience:

Previous experience with Import customs entry an advantage. (tariff classification, duty calculations etc)

Bill of Lading Experience.

Professional and confident telephone manner.

Customer service experience.

Internal Systems & Departments – Cross functional requirements:

Liaising with internal accounts depts to ensure payments are received and client accounts are up to date prior to releasing cargo.

We utilise the Forward Solutions (Forward Office Freight System, previously known as FCL)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday – 08.30 to 17.30 – 1 Hour for lunch

From time to time, weekend work may be required. This will be kept to a minimum wherever possible and shared across the team appropriately.

Salary level :

Age and experience dependent - Guide salary £25,000-£30,000

Probation: 6 month’s probation, reviewed after 3 months.

We provide a pleasant office environment, which includes a nice break out area with modern kitchen facilities, self-serve coffee machines. There is a chill zone adjacent to the kitchen facilities with TV, pool table, ping-pong table and a table arcade machine and sofas. The office is also equipped with showers and an exercise/gym area.

Upon completion of the six month probation you will be auto-enrolled into a contributory pension scheme, we also provide all employees with access to the NHS Top up health scheme which offers cost savings on various appointment fees. Upon completion of first full year of employment an additional day’s holiday is accrued, this continues up to 25 days where it is capped (this excludes bank holidays)
