The role…
GlobalData’s retail consulting team has a long history of working with many of the world’s leading retailers, property firms and those in the financial sector to help them maximise success through developing a thorough understanding of the sector and its likely future performance.
We are currently recruiting Consultants who have an interest and expertise in delivering projects for retailers and retail brands, both in the UK and globally; focusing on critical business intelligence and researching and analysing how consumer behaviours and trends are driving these sectors and are likely to shape future market development.
This is a highly varied role, wherein on any given week, amongst other things, you may find yourself presenting to senior business figures, writing whitepapers, conducting market sizing analysis, researching a niche market opportunity, analysing consumer survey data, or speaking to the media about retail trends.
We are looking for talented individuals to join our team who:
- Are analytically minded, good with data, yet retain the creativity to resolve the conflicts between multiple information sources.
- Have high level written and verbal communication skills
- Have a high level of curiosity and understand business processes in the consumer and retail space
- Can conduct in-depth research to produce accurate, high-quality deliverables for our clients
- Can provide clear, well organised insights and strong recommendations, demonstrating thought leadership
- Are willing to develop a high level of knowledge and expertise within the retail sector
- Can work effectively as part of a team to ensure content is produced to meet deadlines
- Can assist project teams to strengthen client relationships
- Have the ability to solve problems while displaying enthusiasm and energy
- Have the organisation and initiative to be able to work towards running their own projects
What We Look For...
- A minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline, ideally from a leading university, or equivalent commercial experience
- 2-5 Years’ Experience is desirable in Retail, Consulting or Analytical role - but there is some flexibility for a candidate with the right skills and potential
Communication - Strong communication skills internally and externally with clients - Including presentation skills to deliver projects to clients.
Time management & execution - Skilled in managing deadlines and timelines. Planning workload effectively across the full cycle of a project, to deliver high quality results.
Attitude & approach - Logical and efficient approach to delivering projects / approaching projects
Working under pressure -Ability to produce quality deliverables in high pressure environments
Innovation -Experienced in implementing innovative ideas into projects and work practices
Flexibility & responsiveness -Ability to effectively adjust and respond to changing environments and situations and to demonstrate initiative
Teamwork - Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
Conflict resolution -Quickly able to resolve issues which arise and compromise/collaborate will all involved
Problem solving - Proactively finding efficient solutions for their own projects and the team
